  • Brian, My numbers are their sales numbers- people are willing still to pay all this money, even for DRM'd music. Even though they are still locked in to using iTunes and phoning home to listen to it on another computer.

  • Brian, yes iTunes lead the charge in digital music, but if you think Apple is willing to give up some of the control that they have over downloads with DRM, you're mistaken. It's just like how they impose restrictions in the iPhone SDK and apps store.

  • Justin, I agree. I think if more people knew about it, Amazon Mp3 could at least oust EMusic in best selling online store (According to CNet, it's iTunes, EMusic, Amazon).

  • Great suggestion. I am relatively new to iTunes (I was kind of forced into when I bought my Mac in January), and my biggest grip has been browsing the store- especially now that I use it more for the Apps.

  • I think it's good to have competition, but the slowness is really a killer. Cuil will take over a minute to load while Google will do the same in 250 milliseconds because of all the extra requests it's making [Link]. Cuil would need to make some serious improvements for me to consider it again.

  • I'm not at all a fan of the NYT and I really think they are making much ado about nothing. I'm a male/student/freelancer and make only pennies on my blog. Do people take me seriously? I don't know- I don't get all that many comments.
